From Bali (Sanur Harbour)
The default route. 45 minutes, easy.
Sanur is the standard starting point for Nusa Penida. Fast boats leave from a small beach harbour roughly every hour from 7am to 4pm and take 40–50 minutes to reach Toyapakeh or Banjar Nyuh on Penida.
Book online the day before in high season — Wanderlust, Angel Billabong Express and El Rey are all reliable. In low season you can walk up and buy at the beach.
The harbour is a wet-landing beach, not a jetty. Wear sandals and expect to wade through ankle-deep water carrying your bag. Porters will help for a tip.
