Diamond Beach sits at the far east end of the island, a crescent of white sand framed by limestone pinnacles that rise out of the water like teeth. Someone built a proper stairway down a few years ago, so getting to the sand is now a real option.

The water looks unreal from above and it is — but the surf is powerful and the drop-off is steep. Wade, don't swim. Sit under the pinnacles, take photos, don't go past your knees.

Pair it with Atuh Beach next door for a full east-coast morning. Both are quiet compared to Kelingking.
